If Chatvibe seems slugish or slow, or video quality appears to be slow, you may have other programs running that are slowing down your PC, or robbing you of bandwidth. Try any or all of the following suggestions to improve performance:
- Shut down programs such as Skype, Limewire, Splitcam and other programs which use bandwidth. Programs such as these have enormous demands on your CPU, Memory, Bandwidth and other resources. Running this programs at the same time as Chatvibe can seriously degrade your video and audio quality, especially on slower computers.
- Use a Camcorder and a good video capture card such as the Osprey 210 Capture card from Viewcast. They work extremely well and are easy to install. Replacing your "webcam" with this card and a camcorder will yield spectacular results.
- Consider upgrading your computer to a new one witch a Core2 processor. Prices drop daily and the performance is fantastic. The faster your computer is, the better your video and audio quality will be.
- Do not use a wireless connection! A wired connection is much faster. If you have a wireless router, make sure that no one is stealing bandwidth. Most wireless routers ship with encryption and protection Disabled. If you have never taken steps to protect your wireles router, chances are, your bandwidth is being used up right now by your next-door neighbour.
